ALBANY -- With New York's medical marijuana program not planned to start until next year, parents of children with debilitating neurological conditions want state lawmakers to make the drug available immediately for those with the greatest need. Several parents and their children gathered at the Capitol on Tuesday, pushing for emergency access to marijuana for patients with "progressive and degenerative" conditions. Missy Miller was one of the parents who convinced lawmakers to pass the law last year. She says her son Oliver, 15, who suffers from frequent seizures just can't wait until next year. Federal officials denied New York's request to import marijuana from another state last year.
