Apparently pests can make a mess of your car audio system, more specifically, rodents chewing through speaker wires. If this ever happens to you, be it a mouse or a rat, you will have to hunt down the damaged wires and make repairs. If its speaker wires that are damaged they at least let you know it by crackling or cutting out. Repair the damaged wires by cutting out the damaged section, stripping the two ends, soldering them back together and insulating the wire with heat shrink tube or electrical tape. Or replace the whole wire if the damage is in a hard to reach spot or it cannot be found. Funny story, not long after we shot this video Brendan discovered that this exact thing happened to his car! The mouse they mention in the had actually gotten into the engine compartment and wreaked havoc on one of the wire harnesses. This explained why his headlights and blinkers were acting up. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sonic Electronix always strives to be the premiere online shopping destination for car electronics and other consumer electronics.
