Newark Rebellion Commemoration 2014
The People's Organization For Progress (POP) had its annual observance of the 1967 Newark Rebellion on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 1:00pm, at the monument to those who died during the uprising which is located at the intersection of Springfield Ave., 15th Ave., and Irvine Turner Blvd. in Newark, New Jersey. There were presentations by Newark residents, community leaders, and grassroots activists. This event was free and open to the general public.
