This C64 3D Construction Kit demonstration area shows coding techniques that allow objects to be pseudo-animated, such that the animation is drawn regardless of whether or not the player is moving, without any performance loss. The pyramid to the left has two positions and is controlled with local condition 1. The pyramid to the right has three positions and is controlled by the more sophisticated local condition 2. This technique could would with any number of positions. The rotors, and the colour-changing lift tower are controlled by local condition 3. When the lift panel is shot, the player is elevated in such a way that they are still able to look around and move during the forced elevation. This is demonstrated by my walking off the 'lift' onto the upper platform. The lift panel is controlled by local condition 4. The force player elevation is controlled by local condition 5. Here's an itinerary of the objects: 1. entrance 2. floor 3. pyarmid A 1/2 (initially invisible) This object is animated by condition 1 4. pyramid A 2/2 5. pyramid B 1/3 (initially invisible) This object is animated by condition 2 6. pyramid B 2/3 (initially invisible) 7. pyramid B 3/3 8. cube tower 1/2 (initially invisible) This object is animated by condition 3 9. cube tower 2/2 10. Lift cube condition 4 11. Lift button 1 (initially invisible) This object is animated by condition 3 12.
