(3 Apr 2018) 'WONDER WOMAN' LYNDA CARTER GETS HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME STAR Lynda Carter, best known as TV's "Wonder Woman," was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday (3 APRIL 2018). Hundreds of superhero fans lined up to catch a glimpse, hoping to get an autograph from the actress. Carter, wearing a black dress, heels and diamonds, thanked fans for their loyalty. "I have been in the entertainment industry for more than 50 years. Do the math. Acting, singing and entertaining and I have loved it all," said Carter. "I would be nowhere, I would be nowhere without my wonderful fans," she said to the audience. "Millions of people around the world, you've encouraged me and cheered me on. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed a chance to meet you, especially the children." Carter began singing when she was 14 years old, performaing at he Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center, among other venues. She has released four albums, including "Red, Rock N' Blues," released last month. She was crowned Miss World America in 1972 and appeared in more than 40 TV shows and films as an actress. She thanked her attorney husband and children. "Through the ups and downs good times and bad, you have enriched my life and you've always been there for me," Carter said to her family as she became emotional. "My – I love you guys. My two truly amazing children, have given me joy in a way that is impossible to express." The 66-year-old actress also applauded all the strong men in the audience. "And finally, from all of the wonder women out there, we love our men who stand with us and champion our causes and our voices," she said. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Les Moonves and "Wonder Woman" film director Patty Jenkins were also in attendance. "She wasn't afraid to love being a woman and celebrate her femininity, all while kicking ass and changing the world. It's true," said Jenkins. "And as the years have gone by, Lynda has continued to inspire me on this very rare and rebellious road, both on and off the screen because she's continued to dazzle in every other every other area of her life." Carter wouldn't comment on whether she'd make a cameo appearance in the upcoming "Wonder Woman" sequel. She appears in "Super Troopers 2," which will be released April 20.
