(6 Jun 1995) T/I: 10:28:34 German Chancellor, Helmut Kohl, met Israel's Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, in Jerusalem on Tuesday (6/6) for talks on EU-Israeli relations and the Middle East peace process. Earlier, Kohl visited visited Israel's Yad Vashem memorial to the six million Jews murdered in the Nazi Holocaust. Following their talks at his office, Rabin said: "We expressed through Chancellor Kohl...the need for more European involvement in the peace process in many aspects -- political, economic, social." For his part,Kohl said he was sanguine about a proposed EU-Israel trade deal which is in the pipeline.
