Just decided to take a frozen snowy blowy winter walk in my yard and came across these wild turkeys that were up in the birch and grab-apple trees as they are surviving our polar vortex snow situation. I got as close as I could and took slow motion sequences to show their powerful flight capabilities. At the end of the video, I stood up and they all flew in different directions only to regroup later on. Two flocks came through and the larger group definitely drove off the first group of about 12 birds. I think my camera had enough of the cold and the screen just went black while I was capturing their flight away from the trees. Back inside, an hour later and all was fine and full function was restored. This was shot with a Sony AX-700 at 960 fps with the final sequence at 60 fps. The snow is deep and getting deeper... woodland slow motion meditation/coffee break video coming up next. There's just something extraordinary about the winter woods. I hope you enjoy.
