Horizon Forbidden West is an action RPG from a third-person view set in a world filled with dangerous machines. Players control Aloy, a hunter exploring the post-apocalyptic Western U.S. in the Forbidden West to investigate a mysterious plague. Aloy uses bows and arrows, a blastsling for slingshot bombs, and a Shredder Gauntlet to launch discs. She can also set traps, tether enemies, and use different ammo types for elemental damage. Aloy's Focus device helps tag enemies and identify weaknesses, and she can detach machine parts to use against them. I don't know why I was holding off playing this game for so long. It’s a freaking masterpiece. Honestly, I don't get the hate it gets. Or it could be just the Twitter people. Either way, give this franchise a shot and trust me, you won't regret it. The first game might take some getting used to since the story tends to get a bit slow, but after that, it catches up pretty quick. But this game is a rollercoaster from the beginning. The combat is such a huge improvement over the last one, and the graphics— good lord, there are some of the best graphics Sony has ever put out. There were times when my pc just couldn’t handle the graphics in this game, even after applying frame gen. But I didn't want to make any more compromises with the graphics since then it would take the essence of this game. My only complaint is the first game didn't really need a remaster. It was already a good-looking game. Yes, the remaster made it even better, but they could have put that money towards remastering games like Infamous or Killzone or any other older title. :,) I don't get the point of these remasters. The Last of Us, days gone ?? just WHYYY? These are already masterpieces.
