The Shapeshifting Detective is the second game in the Doctor Dekker Universe brought to you by Davekki Studios where you are Sam, a shapeshifter, tasked to investigate the murder of a young cellist, Dorota Shaw, in the fictional town of August. Once meeting a new character, you will have the ability to morph into them and have conversations with the NPCs allowing you to get answers you normally wouldn't be able to as Sam. I went through the game mostly talking to everyone as Sam, then shifting to the others one at a time to get as many scenes as I possibly could. This path unlocks all of the trophies except three: Chicken, The Big Sleep and Hashtag Winning which will be featured in the next video. The reason for this is that Chicken and Hashtag Winning are negated by the options required for certain trophies in this run and The Big Sleep is dependent on who the killer is. Check below for timestamps and missable trophies related to each chapter. 0:00:00 Intro and Chapter 1: 17:00 0:51:21 Chapter 2: 18:00 A Dame to Die For 1:29:27 Chapter 3: 19:00 The Camera Never Lies 2:00:47 Chapter 4: 20:00 Dead Cert. 2:50:55 Chapter 5: 21:00 Redheads Have More Fun 3:42:30 Chapter 6: 22:00 Judgement Day 3:46:06 Chapter 7: 23:00 The Fool 3:51:21 Chapter 8: 1:00 Kill or Cure Chapter 1 Play It Again, Sam At the very beginning of the game, chose the dialogue option instead of the silence option and the agent will make you start over (3:13) A Woman Scorned There is a lot to do for this, but it is pretty simple. Just talk to Violet as everyone and give very accusatory dialogue. After you've talked to her with everyone. Talk to her again as Sam and the cutscene will play out (13:30 as Sam, 24:45 as Chief DuPont, 35:40 as Bronwyn, 42:36 as Lexie and 47:30 as Sam again) Heavy Rayne This requires exposing to Rayne that you are a shapeshifter and negates the Hashtag Winning trophy in the process (36:15) Book Em Danny This requires actions through multiple chapters, but in this chapter, talk to Chief DuPont as Bronwyn (30:20) Chapter 2 You Had One Job Tell Oscar you're a shapeshifter (53:30) Book Em Danny (Continued) Talk to Bronwyn and Lexie about their alibis and then report to Chief Dupont (56:15 as Sam, 58:04 as Sam and 1:26:02 as Sam) Patient Listener Talk to Rayne and he will mention Ouija boards and then listen to Lexie's Ted Talk about Ouija boards choosing the intrigued dialogue over the dismissing ones (58:04 as Sam, and 1:00:45 still as Sam) An Oscar Performance Seduce Oscar as Bronwyn in Chapter 2 (1:13:22) Chapter 3 Voyeur and Bullseye Visit Zak as Sam and look at everything he offers to show you, then go tell Oscar about Zak and Dorota (1:37:04 as Sam, 1:43:40 as Oscar) This will get you Voyeur, but is also required to get Bullseye in Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Bullseye Confront Zak with Oscar (2:05:30) Highlander Talk to Bronwyn as Lexie and get the Highlander reference (2:39:43) Show Me Some Skin Visit Zak as Lexie and opt to do a photo shoot with him. This will expose you as a shapeshifter and negate Hashtag Winning (2:42:08) Poetent Visit Ellis as Zak and try creep on her (2:48:17). This will be continued in Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Poetent (continued) Visit Poe as Zak (3:28:17) Put a Ring on It Visit Poe as Ellis and accept the proposal (3:24:00) Chapter 6 Video saved the Radio Star Insist on staying with Ellis and get her to stay with you. Don't tell her you have powers or she will run away (3:43:50). You can choose to send an officer over and get the Chicken trophy instead (you may even get both) HUGE SPOILER WARNING Look Mum, I'm a Detective is pretty simple to get. There are only 3 potential killers this time around and if either Rayne or Violet are the killer, they will have tells in the first chapter. Rayne will ask you if Dorota was going to marry Oscar which would tell you he has been in Dorota's closet and saw the wedding dress and Violet will deny being at Dorota's house if she is the guilty one. Zak's biggest hint is at 2:23:23 in this playthrough where he mentions being able to step into photographs but it's much faster to just rule out the other two possibilities in Chapter 1.
