Attic fires present many challenges such as: limited access, lots of fuel, and a high probability of ventilation-limited conditions. The “Eave Attack” is a tactic which involves using the openings created by the natural ventilation points in the attic. Getting water in the eaves has shown to be an effective tactic to apply water to the surface of the majority of the fuel in an attic space. Wetting/cooling the surface of the fuel is essential for fire control.
