That's why I'm taking a close look at the new Renault Kangoo today, because as a high-roof van driver and enthusiast, I'm naturally interested in what Renault has come up with. Let's start with the dimensions. The Renault Kangoo is 4.49 meters long, has a wheelbase of 2.72 meters, and a ground clearance of 16.4 cm. Including the side mirrors, the vehicle is 2.16 meters wide, and including the roof rails, the Kangoo measures 1.84 meters in height. The loading sill is just 59.4 cm high. The rear loading width measures 119 cm, and we're looking at the five-seat version here. Let's start with the dimensions. Initially, the car will be powered by fossil fuels, but it's no secret that an electrified version is also planned. So, for now, you have the choice between the 1.3-liter gasoline engine with 75 or 96 kW, or 100 or 130 hp. Prefer a diesel? No problem, the 1.5-liter diesel delivers 55, 70, or 85 kW of power, or 75-115 hp. Power is then transmitted to the road via a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission. Top speeds range from 152 to 183 km/h, and with 0-100 km/h times between 12 and 19.2 seconds, you won't win any races at the traffic lights. But that's not what a family van like this is supposed to be about. It's more about the spaciousness. The trunk holds 775-3,500 liters! The towing capacity is up to 1,500 kg. Behind the wheel, you might also appreciate the 8" infotainment system and the connectivity options for your smartphone. There are also plenty of storage compartments, and the driver assistance systems are quite impressive. The new Kangoo is supposed to be as elegant as a regular passenger car, yet still offers the advantages of its commercial vehicle heritage. Plenty of space, and I'm eager for a first test drive or to sit inside, because at first glance, I find the new Kangoo quite interesting! What do you think?
