Never do this at a wine dinner Don't go to a wine dinner party if you are a wine geek. A lot of care and precision goes into planning a wine dinner. Your host has to plan a wine and food menu, get the order right and be service-ready on time. From the number of wine glasses and forks they will need, to the amount of Hors d'oeuvres they should keep ready- your host will be going to great lengths to plan a perfect evening for you. As a guest, it is good etiquette to accommodating and pleasant so that your host can carry out the wine dinner successfully. Here are three things a great guest never does at a wine party: 1️⃣Being late: Your hosts require every guest to sit down at the table at the same time so that they can start the order of service. But if you turn up late, other guests will have to wait up for you, or your hosts will have to start the service right from the beginning for just one guest, which could cause them a lot of inconvenience. 2️⃣Asking too many questions: We get it! A lot of people love to flaunt their wine knowledge or get carried away in their excitement to learn about the subject. They either end up asking too many questions or hijacking the conversation by oversharing. A graceful guest knows their limit and always lets others speak. 3️⃣Criticising the wines: Everyone has a different wine palate so it doesn't mean that a wine which doesn't suit your taste is essentially "bad". Instead of passing a dismissive judgment on the wines served to you, focus on enjoying the hospitality and don't forget to thank your hosts for a lovely time. Tag your friends to share these wine dinner etiquettes with them. Cheers. #sonalholland #masterofwine #winetips #wineetiquette #wineexpert #winetasting
