ADF personnel 'entitled to presumption of innocence' until proven guilty: Darren Chester

Defence Personnel Minister Darren Chester says the overwhelming majority of the Australian Defence Force is doing the right thing, and those accused of any wrongdoing are "entitled to the presumption of innocence" until proven otherwise. "Throughout our nation's history, more than two million people have served in our navy, army and air force and overwhelmingly have served with great distinction," he told Sky News. "But as the CDF pointed out today, these are very serious allegations and we need to take them seriously; the government is taking it seriously. "We are talking about a relatively small number of individuals who are alleged to have committed offences - and we're not taking away from that - but the overwhelming majority are doing the right thing and living within the values of the defence force."
