IS THE SEARCH OVER FOR MH370? It was just supposed to be a routine flight for the 239 people on board MH370. Instead it became one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history. Malaysia Airlines’ flight 370 left Kuala Lumpur on March 7, 2014 a little after midnight, scheduled to arrive in Beijing six hours later. It never made it. The crew last made voice contact with air traffic control at 1:19 am… less than an hour after takeoff… Three minutes later… the Boeing triple seven disappeared from radar screens. It wasn’t long before the conspiracy theories started flying. Was the plane hijacked? Shot down by the American military? Or did it land at a remote airfield in Kazakhstan? All that is known is MH370 deviated from its planned flight path. DEBRIS FOUND, AUTHORITIES ASK FOR PATIENCE More than a year after the flight disappeared, debris washed ashore on Reunion… a small island in the Indian Ocean. It’s been identified as a flaperon… part of the wing on a Boeing triple seven.. Right after that an Indonesian soap bottle and a piece of luggage were also found. But the debris isn’t expected to change the course of the current search.The flaperon is now in France and being examined. WAITING FOR ANSWERS While people wait for answers, Malaysian authorities ask for patience.It’s been an understandably difficult time for the families.
