Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone - Caretaker & Wraith Boss Fight Strategies (See Desc.)

Caretaker: Avoid his close-quarters swings. Every time he hits you he absorbs health, so the key to this fight is to avoid taking damage. Roll or dodge during his shovel swings, you can stay out of range. If you're close enough to him throughout his combo, he'll do about 4 or 5 swings then immediately perform a ground attack. If you're very close to him when this happens, roll towards him and slightly to the side. If you are a bit further away, you can roll or side-step directly to the left or right. As soon as he finishes the ground attack, get to him as quickly as you can. You can fit in maybe 3 or 4 heavy attacks before his next move, or a bunch of light attacks and a couple of heavies. You will get a feel for this. It's important you do not take damage from his counter, so as soon as you land those few hits, back-step. Quit while you're ahead. If the ground radius attack hits you, it pretty much restores any health you took from him with your last few hits. When he summons ghosts, he will try to kill them to absorb health, follow him and kill the ghosts he is targeting so he is able to heal as little as possible. Avoid his swings if you get too close. When he charges at you, side-step or roll, then get to him as quickly as possible when he is worn out. You can land 2-3 hits before he tries another attack, and you have to make sure you get out of the radius again for this. Occasionally he will perform a random ground wave attack when you are too far from him, but this should be easily avoidable. Sometimes he will perform 2 in a row. Rinse and repeat, and he will die. Make sure to loot his shovel when you're done. Wraith: Just like fighting a regular wraith. Use moon dust bombs, Quen and Yrden however you want. Quen is really helpful. She is easy to avoid most of the time, so just keep combo-ing her and stepping back when she charges. When she hovers, and a wall painting lights up green, she is healing. So get to that painting and hit it with your sword. This should keep her from completely regenerating. Her attacks don't change up much beyond this. Just make sure she heals as little as possible and she should drop like a sack of shit.
