StoryCenter and Sahiyo, #VoicesToEndFGMC project is mobilizing a critical mass of storytellers and activists from across the globe. We bring people together to share and heal from their experiences of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and create short videos calling for an end to this harmful practice. Absa joined her peers in teasing girls who had not been cut, until she learned the devastating impacts of the practice, by participating in a women’s rights group. Since then, she has spoken against female genital cutting/mutilation (FGM/C) across the Gambia, in West Africa, and also in the United States, where she now resides.
