FEAR OF JUDGMENT MAKING YOU BLUSH? Codependency & Blushing and how it contributes to a blotchy chest

My Instagram friend, Julia, sent this to me: "As a codependent myself I’ve been understanding how much we are control freaks and how much we want to control how people see us. I think codependents are so self aware that the blushing is the result of that and all of our criticism. It really hit me. Don't you feel self conscious when people are staring at you while you need to perform, especially at work? The more we stay with ourselves the better. When we try to control the scene and the outcomes, the blushing happens." This comment left me stunned. Julia is SO RIGHT! Trying to control how other perceive us is a survival skill, so no wonder our nervous systems go nuts when we are fearing judgement and afraid we won't measure up. We are always scaling the land to see if we are doing 'good'. For so many of us, 'good' means we are accepted and will survive and we learned this from our childhoods. Here's a clip of me after I got off of a call with my boss - who I adore and he adores me. But still. He's an authority figure who 'holds the power' and therefore I try to control how I'm perceived by him so that I can 'survive'. Fear of judgement is so very complicated!
