Family remembers 3-year-old killed in hit and run

EAST PRICE HILL, Ohio (Brad Underwood) -- For most people, Christmas is spent unwrapping presents and being together as a family. But for the Hill family of East Price Hill, Christmas Day once brought enormous joy but is now a reminder of what they once had. Christmas 2014 Jaylen Hill would have been 6-years-old. The Hill family said police have told them the case has gone cold. The driver never stopped and the family is still waiting for "Justice for Jaylen." Huddling together, the Hill family pleaded for those responsible to step up and tell the truth. Jaylen's aunt, Regina Hill, said, "He got sisters and brothers. We just want him to man up. Come forward and man up, deal with what you've done." Police said Jaylen was playing outside with other children on March 22, 2012 when he ran into the street after a football. Witnesses said there were black men in the car. Jaylen's mother, Janell Hill, said, "We want justice. That's all. I want justice for my baby. That's all I want, to know who killed him. Just come forward, I know you can't live with it." Investigators eventually found the red Chevy Impala they believed to have hit Jaylen, but the owner who was questioned said she wasn't driving the car at the time and didn't know who may have been behind the wheel. Janell Hill said her three other children help her get through the bad days. Janell said she believes whoever hit and killed her son lives in the Price Hill area and that someone even tore down a Crime Stoppers flyer at nearby gas station. "He told me a black gentleman came in and took it down and said he was a family member. None of our family would take posters down. So it had to be the crook that hit my child," Janell said. No one has been charged or arrested. Jaylen was 3-years-old when he died. If you know something about Jaylen Hill's death that could help police call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
