A Qur’anic Historical Miracle: Pharaoh’s Strange Claim

When Moses told Pharaoh that Allah wanted him to let the Israelites leave Egypt with them, Pharoah rejected the demand. But then the Qur’an reports an intriguing claim that Pharaoh and his courtiers made about why Moses wanted to take the Israelites out of Egypt. They claimed that Moses wanted to lead his people out of Egypt in order to “expel the Egyptians from their land”. This baffling claim, which is not found in the Bible, can be understood only by knowing certain episodes in the history of ancient Egypt. Yet this information was unknown until the last one and a half-century, so Muhammad ﷺ could not have known about it. https://www.safispub.com/comparative-... 00:00 King and Pharaoh distinction 02:21 Another historical miracle, the relevant Qur'anic verses 9:30 Muslim exegetes trying to explain the perplexing verses 9:55 Al-Tabari's explanation 11:44 A;-Razi's explanation 13:28 Ibn Kathir's explanation 15:51 Ibn Ashur's explanation 20:15 Some episodes in Egyptian History that might shade some light 21:25 15th dynasty of Semite rulers 27:57 Making sense of Pharaoh's strange claim 36:22 Rameses II's awareness of the happenings of the 15th dynasty and Joseph 37:51 Conclusion: a historical miracle
