North Carolina state trooper shoots woman after high-speed chase

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NC SBI) says it is investigating an "officer-involved shooting" on US 421 near Pleasant Garden Road in Greensboro on Tuesday. The SBI said the incident happened around 10 a.m. and involved a citizen and a state trooper. The SBI said it started with the trooper trying to pull a woman over for speeding. Investigators said the woman did not comply and took off. The SBI said the trooper then used a pit maneuver to stop the woman's car. After that, the SBI said an incident occurred, which resulted in the trooper shooting the woman. The SBI said the woman was transported to a local hospital for her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time. Investigators said the trooper was not hurt. The NC State Highway Patrol requested full assistance from the SBI with the investigation.
