Elderly man, woman found stabbed to death

VIDOR- Jessica Crawford Vidor Police say Thursday night, around 11, a family member was performing a welfare check on an elderly relative when they discover two dead bodies in his home. Officers say the bodies of an elderly man and woman were found in the 300 block of Timberlane in Vidor. Investigators say the man and woman were found stabbed to death. Some in the community are raising concern. "I don't want to have to worry every single night, is somebody in my family gonna get hurt?," says Linda Gray, a neighbor. "Is one of my neighbors gonna get hurt? Or murdered." Justice of the Peace Derry Dunn tells us the relative discovered the man's body lying on the floor. He says the man appeared to have a wound on his abdomen and a defensive wound on his arm. Dunn says the woman was stabbed at least twice, once in the rib cage and once in the neck. Her body was found in a chair. "Kind of gives you an uneasy feeling I guess to know something like that happened this close to home," says Linda Wheeler, a neighbor. Jeremy Villanueva says his mother told him Thursday morning she had waved at the elderly woman "It's shocking to hear something like that happened in this neighborhood," he says. "Nothing ever happens in this neighborhood." Neighbors say the crime is prompting them to warn elderly family members to lock their doors, close their garages, and never open the door for strangers. Many in the community hope an arrest will be made soon. "One hundred fifty percent I want whoever did this for whatever reason to be arrested and be taken off the streets," says Gray. "We've got to be able to be safe. At least in our own home."
