NEREUS Saint-Omer EN | From waste water sludge to fertilizer for crops

The NEREUS project wants to boost the transformation of wastewater into a valuable source of water, nutrients (such as phosphorus or cellulose), and energy that can be repurposed in a circular economy. In this Saint-Omer case, led by project partner CAPSO, we researched how the sludge left after treating waste water can be optimised by dosing lime in order to repurpose it as a crop fertilizer for the local vegetable farmers.
