Fireworks in Lok Sabha over removal of Gandhi family’s SPG cover

Congress leaders raised the issue of SPG cover withdrawal from the Gandhis in the Lok Sabha. While several Congress leaders shouted slogans against the government’s decision, its leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury questioned the government on the issue. He said that SPG cover was not withdrawn even by earlier NDA governments since the threat perception to the Gandhis is high. The centre had earlier removed SPG cover for the Gandhis and former PM Manmohan Singh.
