This is the title song of the 1933 movie "42nd Street" starring Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler. It is seen and heard here in a typically fabulous performance by the John Wilson Orchestra and Maida Vale Singers, with soloist Annalene Beechey. It comes from their 'Hooray for Hollywood' concert given during the 2011 Proms Season in London's Royal Albert Hall. The song's music was written by Harry Warren and the lyrics by Al Dubin and the arrangement heard here was based on the orchestration as played in the 1933 movie.
