Here's a thought provoking question - Why is it the Indian Media sexualizes women in its content? If you look closely, Indian women are always portrayed as beautiful, tempting, desirable and visually attractive women who dance, sing and lure their man. Now if you thought that was bad enough, now a days the Indian media has started to come out with story lines where the Indian woman - who was once a symbol of purity, piety & values, is very comfortable sleeping around with multiple partners. Yes - I totally understand there shouldn't be double standards - if Men can do it, so can women - Fine. However, in a country which prides itself for its 'values' - where does this narrative fit in? And can we have the same standards for men - to sleep around, for women? Is it okay for them also to sleep around? Yes, sex is a desire that both men & women should both engage into, it they chose to. My question is - what is the impact on the younger generation that is being fed this narrative?
