How to Keep Wood from Rotting

In this video, Matt McCraw explains how to keep wood from rotting by applying a borate-based wood preservative to logs and other wood. Borate-based wood preservative protects against wood- ingesting insects and fungi that cause rot. It is important to remember that borate-based preservatives must only be applied to clean, bare wood. One application will provide permanent protection if the borated wood is always protected by a quality, water-resistant stain.
