UN adopts call for Russia to pay Ukraine war reparations

The UN General Assembly adopts a resolution supporting a mechanism for Russia to pay reparations for human and property destruction from its invasion of Ukraine. "It is a signal of hope for justice and an important first step towards accountability" Ukraine's ambassador to the UN Sergiy Kyslytsya says. The resolution was supported by 94 member states, opposed by 14 against and 73 countries abstained.
