Cruise line dress codes can be a controversial topic, especially during formal night. What to wear on a cruise can be the reason for a lot of overpacking! Should your cruise outfits prioritize comfort or style? How much room do you devote to your formal night dress? These days, most cruise lines dress code only require long pants in the main dining room, not a full tuxedo or formal dress. But is that enough to avoid the status shaming of your fellow passengers? On our recent Princess Cruise, we packed several cruise outfits but we were definitely underdressed on formal night. We are not first-time cruisers, but we still felt judged by some of the more experienced cruisers when they saw what we wore on our cruise.
