Welcome back! One of my favorite fabric sales has recently taken place: the sale at Ephrata, PA, held by the Mennonite Central Committee. I brought home a lot of new treasures, so I'll show them all to you and talk about my early thoughts on how I'll use them. There are a lot of things on offer at this sale: fabrics, quilt tops, kits (both new and started), finished quilts, threads, buttons, all kinds of notions.... but my favorite thing at this sale is the orphan block table. I love looking through all of these blocks, and my favorites are those with vintage fabrics and hand work. I also love to pick out blocks in patterns which I know I'd never make myself. I brought home a nice pile of orphan blocks, some pieced by hand, others by machine, some with embroidery, others with ruching, and some chicken scratch. I also continued my tradition of the past few years, of bringing home one vintage quilt top to finish into a quilt. I had a great time at this sale-- and it was lovely to meet a few of you there, too! I hope you enjoy looking through these beauties.
