The PROCLAMATION of Grace v 26 A. A SUDDEN Appearance Definition: Gabriel—His name comes from the Hebrew “Warrior or God” or “Man of God” B. A SURPRISED Audience 1. Mary was a PURE Woman v 27 (Genesis 3:15 ) 2. Mary was a BLESSED Woman v 28 II. The PERSON of Grace v 30 A. The GIFT of the Child (Hebrews 2:14) John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. He is the SAVIOUR v 31 Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 2. He is the SON OF GOD v 32 Colossians 1:17-18 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Matthew 1:22-23 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 3. He is SOVEREIGN v 32-33 Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Isaiah 9:6-7 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. III. The PRACTICE of Grace A. She RECEIVES God’s Plan v 34 1. The Miracle DESCRIBED v 35-36 Quote: “Christ must be both God and man to atone for sin, but for this to occur, He must be conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a human virgin. No one else in the history of the world is conceived by the Spirit and born of a virgin mother. Therefore, Jesus alone qualifies to be Saviour.” 2. The Miracle DETERMINED v 37 Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. B. She BELIEVES God’s Plan v 38 1. She Yielded to His WILL Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. VIII.
