Germany - Polish Community Remembers War Victims

(7 May 1995) T/I: 10:34:22 Members and friends of Berlin's Polish community on Sunday (7/5) paid tribute to their countrymen and women who perished at the hands of the Nazis. Bouquets of flowers were laid outside the Polish embassy -- so many the pavement was completely covered. Nearby, at Alexander Platz, 2-3,000 demonstrators against racism and Fascism gathered to pay tribute to the Allied forces that liberated Berlin. They planned to march through the city, passing buildings where Nazi crimes are known to have occurred.
