Did you Know in The Little Mermaid ?? MOVIE - The Little Mermaid FACTS - If you take a closer look at the official poster of The Little Mermaid, it depicts Ariel surrounded by various sea creatures. However, the fishes Arapaima and Geophagus to her right, are inaccurately portrayed. In reality, both of these fish are found exclusively in freshwater habitats, and not the sea. With the arapaima specifically only seen in the Amazon rainforest. Also Arapaima's size in the poster is shown much smaller, as it is actually known as the largest river fish in the world.
