Folsom Dam water control manual update

Building a second dam at Folsom Dam -- the auxiliary spillway -- will mean changes to how we release water during a storm. But Folsom Dam stores more than just flood water. Sacramento District senior environmental manager Dan Artho explains how the Corps is working with the dam's owner, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, as well as the state of California, Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency and other stakeholders to flood management operating manual to conform as equitably as possible with the other authorized Folsom Dam purposes of water supply, power generation, water quality, fish and wildlife preservation, and recreation.
