Texas Gov. Rick Perry tells gay Iraq war vets to move to another state if they want to marry
Texas Gov. Rick Perry responds to a reporter in a discussion about HJR 6 - the anti-gay state constitutional amendement known as "Prop 2" that would ban marriage equality for gay & lesbian Texans. (June 13, 2005) Asked by a reporter what he would tell gay and lesbian veterans returning from Iraq who want to wed, Mr. Perry said, "If there is some other state that has a more lenient view than Texas, then maybe that's a better place for them to live."
