Ellora's hidden marvel - Thousand year old Jain temples | Wonders of Ancient India, Ep. 4 (Part 4)

The Jain Caves are a group of 5 cave temples located at the far end of the Ellora Caves UNESCO World Heritage site in eastern Maharashtra, India. Although much smaller than some of the other Hindu and Buddhist caves at Ellora, what these cave temples lack in size, they more than compensate with the beauty and richness of their extraordinary sculptural decoration. Carved between the 9th and 11th century CE, these are some of the last rock-cut monuments at Ellora, and perhaps in all of India. Due to their unfinished state, they provide valuable insights into the techniques and tools employed for carving these masterpieces of ancient architecture.
