Super Smooth Chest Circles: One Quick Tip for Belly Dancers

Super Smooth Chest Circles: One Quick Tip for Belly Dancers

Happy Easter, everyone! Here's my first Easter egg for you; one super quick tip on what to practice to improve your belly dance chest circles. How often do you work on your "slift?" (A cross between a chest slide and a lift, haha!). This is a movement I feel is often missed in our drilling sessions as belly dancers. Drilling this diagonal lift of the chest is also super helpful for improving belly dance moves like the side winder, or some of the bigger chest infinity movements that we see in Modern Oriental Dance. When practising this diagonal lift, make sure the movement is coming from the ribcage, not the shoulders. Try to envision that someone is pushing you from the opposing side. Have a great Easter weekend, and look after each other. I've got some more quick tips coming for you soon, so stay tuned!
