Please join my PATREON page to enjoy full length, ADS FREE VIDEOS, with early access and extra content! / pietrosguitarphilosophy Play with me and switch between SOLOING and COMPING! We are going to improvise together on this simple 2 chord progression, made just with chord number VI and chord number II in the harmonization of the key of G major (or the first and fourth degree of the relative E minor key), and played with a Bossa Nova style rhythm. We can use a very simple rhythm for the chords, and we are going to review the 5 positions of the G major scale one at a time for the solo. When soloing we are on going to concentrate especially on the quality of the EVEN 8th notes, trying to compare them with the SWING 8ths of the previous lessons. You can use the previous PRACTICE WITH ME session as a warm up to this PLAY WITH ME SESSION: Lesson 25 - EVEN 8ths • Lesson 25 - EVEN eighths After playing on this video you can also go back to lesson 24, to become more and more aware of the subtle (but really important!!) difference between SWING and EVEN 8ths. Lesson 24 - Impro on a 2 5 1 in G • Lesson 24 - Impro on a 2 5 1 in G VERY IMPORTANT: pay close attention to the drums, especially when you are comping and I'm soloing, because that's going to be your main reference for the rhythm and for the structure. This the the most important exercise: always LISTEN!
