H-Alps Day 1 - Volbiv turns into gruelling hike

This was the first day of our vol biv adventure in the French Alps. An amazing day followed by Nick's tragic accident the next day. It was hard to edit knowing how badly the next day ended and I've been sitting on it for a while. Nick's been doing amazingly well in his new circumstances and adapting to a different life. An irrepressible adventurer and an inspiration for all in the face adversity. The accident was a stark reminder of how dangerous this sport can be and also a reminder to be thankful for all the incredible experiences that it allows us to enjoy. Those that fly know the irresistable draw of flight. It's in our blood. It makes us who we are and it makes us seek out each other. Here's hoping all my flying friends continue to have amazing flying adventures, safely.
