Asian Youth Day (AYD) is the coming together of Catholic youths from different Asian countries. This week-long life experience enables young people to gather in formation programs and plan their future spiritual lives. At the same time, the gathering aims to provide an opportunity for Catholic youths to explore and renew their faith, so that they can share the Gospel with others through the work of justice and peace. AYD also includes the sharing of faith with other religious groups. 6th Asian Youth Day 2014, Daejeon, Korea with the theme: ASIAN YOUTH! WAKE UP! The glory of the martyrs shines on you. "We have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him" - (Rom 6,8) Days in the Diocese: August 10 - 13, 2014 6th Asian Youth Day (Proper): August 13 - 17, 2014 Let us look back to the start and milestone of the Asian Youth Day: 1st AYD at Hua Hin, Thailand (1999); 2nd AYD at Taipei, Taiwan (2001); 3rd AYD at Bangalore, India (2003); 4th AYD at Hongkong (2006) and 5th AYD at Imus, Cavite, Philippines Plus the History of the Korean Catholic Church, watching videos of our sisters and brothers in the host-country and its host diocese, the Diocese of Daejeon in South Korea inviting the other countries around Asia to take part in this momentous event!
