Blaze Up The Fire 01:06:09 Chronixx is the leading figure of the reggae revival movement and has been the driving force behind the “Back to the Roots” of reggae in Jamaica for several years. His music serves as a counterpoint to the dancehall movement. In 2008, Chronixx performed at the Summerjam Festival at Fühlinger See in Cologne, where Rockpalast recorded his concert. Jamar Rolando McNaughton, aka Chronixx, doesn’t just sing about sunshine and good vibes; he also addresses social and spiritual themes in his roots reggae. His father was a well-known producer, and Chronixx was already behind the controls himself by the age of 14. In 2014, he even gained recognition in the U.S. with the EP “Dread & Terrible” and performed at venues including Central Park and on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show. His 2017 debut album “Chronology” became a massive hit, earned Chronixx a Grammy nomination, and cemented his status as one of the most important reggae artists of today. 📸 Thumbnail photos: WDR/Thomas von der Heiden #chronixx #reggae #rockpalast ----- 🎬 More Rockpalast: ► Rockpalast on the ARD Media Library: https://www.ardmediathek.de/sendung/r... ► Rockpalast website and archive: https://www.wdr.de/tv/rockpalast/
