India GDP Grows At 7.2%: Arvind Panagariya On Modinomics | India Development Debate

India's gross domestic product grew 7.2% during FY23 surpassing the estimate of 7% projected by the RBI. The latest data also reveals that GDP growth gained momentum in the January-March quarter, with an impressive expansion of 6.1%. This also marks a significant improvement on the previous quarter's rate of 4.4%. And though the YoY GDP slowed down from 9.1% to 7.2%, the GDP performance cannot be understated. The pleasant co-incidence is also not missed with the Modi govt celebrating 9 years in power, the better than expected GDP numbers are enough to create some heartburns for the naysayers.
