No INVESTIGATION for Cedric Diggory's murder?

Why didn’t the Ministry of Magic look at Harry’s memory after the Tri-Wizard Tournament? Cedric Diggory was clearly killed by the Avada Kedavra curse! Cedric’s father, Amos Diggory, actually works at the Ministry of Magic! Why wasn’t there a FULL scale Investigation? To be fair, Harry Potter is claiming that Peter Pettigrew & Lord Voldemort are the ones responsible for Cedric’s Death, and the wizarding community believes that both of these individuals have been dead for quite some time! But with a little Veritaserum or a memory extraction, the Wizarding Community would know the truth! Now obviously, Fudge would've insisted Dumbledore had tampered with Harry’s memories to further his plot of overthrowing Fudge for Minister of Magic! If Voldemort really is returning, then Fudge believes that the wizarding community will demand that Dumbledore acend to Minister of Magic. It’s also possible that a witch or wizard needs advanced training in order to pull their own memory and provide it for others?
