A CALL TO CULTIVATE THE CHARACTER OF GOD; MAKE JESUS FAMOUS PRAYER HOUR | PASTOR BEN OCHOLA

A CALL TO CULTIVATE THE CHARACTER OF GOD Tuesday 04th February 2025 John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. Through our character, we reveal Jesus to others; it is evidence that we are born of the nature of God. This nature finds expression through the diverse fruits of the spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 There's a place for good work in salvation and when we do such good works and function in these fruits, men will see us and glorify Our Father in heaven. (Philippians 2:13) Colossians 2:6-7 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 1 John 3:7...He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. As a child of God, you are expected to be like Your Heavenly Daddy. However, you need to know that just as the fruit of a plant is a result of the organic nature of the plant, so is our cultivation of the character of God. It is not something we compel ourselves to do but it is the working of the Holy Spirit as we abide in Him through intimate fellowship. When your life begins to show deficiencies in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, it indicates that something is wrong with your fellowship with God. John 15:5 "I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing. Jesus called us to a life of intimacy and fellowship, where we grow deeper through prayer, studying the Word, and obedience to diverse instructions of the Holy Spirit. Our response to this call is what makes that organic nature that came to you when you gave your life to Jesus begin to produce the fruit of the Spirit in your life. The more yielded you become, the more fruit of the Spirit will continue to find expression in your life which is the character of God. This is the only thing satan cannot mimic. Matthew 7:16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? The Fruit Life represents the level of intimacy and how much of God's Word is ruling in a man's life. Remember, a gift is a gift; you don't work for it. You can only know men by their fruits, not their gifts. This is the litmus test that Jesus gave us which is key to your survival. The Holy Spirit has already deposited these realities in our spirit, and as our fellowship gets stronger, these dimensions will begin to dominate our lifestyle and determine our maturity. Maturity is not measured by the anointing or gifts a man walks in, it is measured by the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. Psalms 1: 1-3 As the Holy Spirit beacons each of us, let's be intentional in engaging the Word, watching our associations, and obeying the individual ordinations that may not be in the written Word, just like the one that was given to Samson. It is our obedience to these instructions that proves our love for Him. May the Holy Spirit help us to take our fellowship to another level so that we may keep abiding in Him till our fruits glorify God.
