Zelda: Ocarina of Time Playthrough #088, Ganon's Tower, Boss: Ganondorf

This is video #088 in my Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time playthrough. The time has finally come to explore the central keep of Ganon's Castle. The first large room is overrun with Fire Keese. I just like to run upstairs past them and go through the door. Upstairs, Link will arrive in a room with two Dinolfos. The Dinolfos are upgraded versions of Lizalfos. In fact, they can be fought in exactly the same way. Shouldn't be too hard. After defeating them, Link goes through the door and continues upstairs. In the room upstairs, Link faces a couple of Stalfos. Stalfos are bad enough, but that fire in the middle of the room makes things rough. When the boneheads are defeated, the fire in the middle of the room dies down, allowing Link to collect the Boss Key. After going up another stairway, Link finds a room with a couple of Iron Knuckles. To make things easy, be sure to provoke only one at a time. Shooting one from afar with an arrow does the trick nicely. Past the door, there are more stairs. That eerie organ music is getting louder and better defined. The boss door will unlock the next door. There are some pots in this room if you need to resupply. After another long stairway, Link will pass through a door and enter Ganondorf's inner sanctum. I won't spoil the scenes, but Navi will not be of much help in this battle. Nuts. In the battle with the Great King of Evil, Ganondorf, the big bad will shoot balls of light at Link. Link must bat them back with his weapon. Biggoron's Sword seems well suited to this. When Ganon misses batting the ball back and takes a hit, Link must shoot him in the torso with a Light Arrow to stun him. Then Link can close in and slash away with the sword of choice. Overall, the pattern of this battle is pretty simple. Ganon also has an attack where he will spread both hands and gather energy. This can be interrupted with a timely Light Arrow. A scene ensues after the battle. Ganondorf coughed up red blood in the original version of the game, but I guess the censors thought it was too gory for an E-rated game, so they changed it to green in later versions. Unfortunately, it looks like it won't be a leisurely stroll out of the tower. Link and Zelda have three minutes to get out before the tower collapses. It is overall not too difficult to get out. If Link upgraded his defensive power, he can even afford to take a few hits from the falling debris. Partway down, the duo will be attacked by a pair of Stalfos. On this occasion, I recommend using Nayru's Love to make Link briefly invincible and just hacking away at the boneheads with Biggoron's Sword. The debris becomes more frequent along the way down. On the bridge near the end, hug the right wall so that Link can avoid the ReDead. He will still get frozen briefly, but he will snap out of it before the ReDead reaches him. When the pair escapes, a cool scene ensues. Thanks for watching! This video is part of my Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Playthrough playlist.
