COSECANT, SECANT, COTANGENT | Math Animation

What are Cosecant, Secant and Cotangent? In our previous video about trigonometry we already discussed the three main trigonometric functions, sine, cosine, and tangent. Now in this video, we will be discussing the three additional trigonometric functions which are the cosecant, secant, and cotangent. These three are trigonometric functions but they are rarely used. Before we discuss cosecant, secant, and cotangent, let’s have a quick recap about the three main trigonometric functions which are the sine, cosine, and tangent. In order to remember the formula of sine, cosine, and tangent, we used the expression “SOH CAH TOA”. For the expression “SOH”, S stands for sine, O stands for opposite and H stands for the hypotenuse, therefore sine is equal to opposite over hypotenuse. For the expression “CAH”, C stands for cosine, A stands for adjacent and H stands for hypotenuse therefore cosine is equal to adjacent over hypotenuse. And for the expression “TOA”, T stands for the tangent, O stands for opposite and A stands for adjacent therefore tangent is equal to opposite over adjacent.
