The 11th Annual Human Rights, Sexuality and the Law Symposium

The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs), in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), invites you to be part of a landmark event this International Human Rights Day. This year, the theme is “Responsive Democracy: Protecting Human Dignity through Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion." The symposium will feature a keynote address, a presentation of the 2025 human rights violation report, a presentation on the state of roll-back of rights and anti-rights distortions in Africa, and panel discussions with diverse activists, legal experts, and public opinion influencers. These discussions will cover relevant topics such as SOGIESC issues, legal frameworks, humanitarian crises, and insecurity, ensuring a wide range of perspectives are represented.
