Cleveland area weather forecast: Soggy start to the weekend

Your 11 p.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for May 10, 2024: What a fantastic end to the workweek! Skies will continue be clear through midnight. If the geomagnetic forecast holds, some of us outside of the metro could see glimmers of the northern lights. Changes are on the way come Saturday morning. A quick moving clipper system will dive into Northeast Ohio spreading rain showers as early as 7 AM. Widespread showers will be likely through the morning. The shower/storm threat turns scattered by lunchtime with a northwest wind. Upper-level dynamics could generate brief heavy downpours and even small-size hail through the early evening. Heading to the Cavaliers game around sunset, conditions will be drier. Mother's Day looks much better with morning clouds giving way to sunshine and temps that recover into the mid 60s. If you're heading to lunch or dinner, we look great!
