Auld Lang Syne. Traditional Scottish Melody arr. Chip Davis & arr. Robert Longfield

Auld Lang Syne. Traditional Scottish Melody arr. Chip Davis & arr. Robert Longfield

"Auld Lang Syne" is a beloved Scottish folk song traditionally sung at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. The lyrics, written by renowned Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1788, are based on an older traditional song. The title translates to "old long since" in English, or more idiomatically "days gone by" or "times long past." The song is a poignant reflection on friendship, remembrance, and the passing of time, asking whether old friendships should be forgotten. Burns set his lyrics to a traditional folk melody that has become one of the most recognizable tunes in the English-speaking world.
