WAITING WITH EXPECTATIONS

DAILY DEVOTIONAL TOPIC: WAITING WITH EXPECTATIONS DEVOTION, WORD FOR THOUGHT AND PRAYERS WITH APOSTLE ABRAHAM ABODERIN TEXT: Psalm 40:1-3 (NIV) 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. Have you ever found yourself in the season of waiting? Sometimes it may seem like your prayers have not been heard In this Psalm we are reminded of a profound truth that God does hear us. You may be in your season for waiting and it may seem like you have been waiting for a long time to get an answer to your prayers, but be assured today that God has heard you. The waiting season tests your faith and your endurance. Waiting with patience is not just waiting in vain, but it is waiting with expectation and faith that God is working behind the scene God is your shield and your rescuer. The God that you serve is an unchangeable God and what He did for people in the past, He will also do for you. God was the one that brought Daniel out of the den of lions; He will do the same for you. When God lifts you out of the pit, He does not just lift you, but He puts a new song of praise in your mouth. With an expectant heart, wait for God to rescue you. When you are going through tough times, do not sing songs of sorrow because God is working in the background What is the pit that you have found yourself in? • Is it a financial pit? • Is it an emotional pit? God is going to lift you out of that pit today and give you a new song. Share your past testimonies of God’s goodness in your life because your testimonies may be exactly what another person needs to keep going PRAYER POINTS 1. Hear my cry O Lord, and show me your glory 2. Lord, take me out of the situation that I am in 3. Lord turn the table around in my favour in Jesus’ name PRAYERS Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear us when we cry out to You. In the moments where we feel stuck in the pit, remind us that You are near and ready to lift us up. Help us to wait patiently with faith, knowing that Your timing is perfect. As You set our feet on solid ground, give us a new song of praise to glorify You and draw others to Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
