The Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India. It's located in Wayanad, Kerala, on the foothills of the Banasura hills, around 20 kilometers away from the town of Kalpetta. The dam was constructed across the Karamanathodu River, a tributary of the Kabini River. Banasura Sagar Dam is a picturesque tourist hotspot in Wayanad, the reservoir sprawls over a large area and is surrounded by lush green hills, creating a scenic landscape. Tiny islands dot the reservoir, making it a photographer's paradise.
